What is chondroitin sulfate?
Chondroitin sulfates are long chains of sugar units which are attached to proteoglycans and help attract and hold fluid into the cartilage. Chondroitin Sulfate promotes cartilage regeneration and inhibits the activity of harmful enzymes that break down the cartilage.*
What is glucosamine?
Glucosamine is a modified sugar molecule. Proteoglycans are the building blocks of cartilage. Glucosamine is needed for the body to manufacture the proteoglycans that help to keep the cartilage functional. Glucosamine is necessary to keep cartilage tissue lubricated and maintain its naturally slippery texture.*
How do these two ingredients work together?
The special blend of glucosamine and chondroitin in Swan® G&C provides nutritional support for joint comfort and flexibility. Working together, glucosamine and chondroitin stimulate the synthesis of new cartilage while inhibiting the action of cartilage-destroying enzymes.*
How do I take this product?
You will take the capsules (amount depends on your indivdual body weight) as directed for the first 60 days. Thereafter the dosage may then be lowered to the number of capsules daily that maintains the desired results. Results are expected within 8 weeks.
Changes may occur gradually because Swan® G&C is a dietary supplement that helps restore the nutrients your body needs to rebuild and repair damaged cartilage. The process of restoring healthy joints takes time and will depend on your individual nutritional needs.

Are there any side effects to this product?
There are no reported side effects based on the studies done on both glucosamine and chondroitin. In rare cases, some individuals may experience slight gastrointestinal disturbance or mild stomach upset. If you are taking medication or have any specific health conditions, it is always best to check with your physician before adding anything new to your diet.

I take a prescription drug. Can I take Swan G&C with my prescription?
Please consult with your physician and pharmacist if you are under a physician’s care or are taking any medication. There are no known studies that show a reaction with prescription drugs.
Will this product have an effect on my sugar levels?
No, Swan® G&C should not affect blood sugar levels. Glucosamine is a natural amino sugar. These sugars have a different structure and function than blood sugar (glucose). Amino sugars are not likely to affect blood glucose levels. It is always best to check with your physician before adding anything new to your diet or if you have any specific health conditions.
I am allergic to Sulfate. Can I take this product if it has chondroitin sulfate in it?
Generally, Swan® G&C should not produce an allergic response for those allergic to sulfate. Sulfate is naturally found within our bodies. There are many people who are allergic to the "sulfonamide" family or to products containing "sulfites" as preservatives. Swan® G&C has neither of these chemical groups. It is best to speak with your doctor if you are not sure what chemical or food product caused your reaction in the past.
